Meet the Doctor
Rene Rodriguez, PhD, LAc
-Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist
Dr. Rene Rodriguez has over 20 years of experience in acupuncture, plant based nutrition therapy, herbal medicine, meditation, and yoga. His long road to becoming a doctor of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine began at San Diego State University where he earned his Bachelor's of Science (B.S.) degree while playing shortstop for the Aztecs baseball team.
Although he realized his passion for natural health and wellness as a student-athlete at San Diego State, he first briefly worked in the motion picture industry in Hollywood, CA, helping produce live sports broadcasts, commercials, television shows and movies. But his interest in natural health and wellness never wavered, it only grew stronger. During this time he developed a deep interest in the natural healing arts, immersing himself in various holistic naturopathic practices, yoga, zen meditation, and nutrition, and began receiving regular acupuncture treatments to help navigate the pressures of working in the film and television business.
This eventually led him to the four-year Traditional Oriental Medicine program at Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA, where he earned his Master's degree with highest honors, then passed the California Acupuncture board exam and became a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac). His goal was later fulfilled at American Liberty University in Orange, California, where after four additional years of specialty research and training he obtained his Doctor of Oriental Medicine (Ph.D.) degree.
After working in Southern California for the past 14 years, Dr Rene relocated to Modesto, CA, with his wife and two children, and is honored and eager to bring his wealth of experience and knowledge to the greater Stanislaus County community. When not helping others achieve their health and wellness goals, he enjoys family time, music, writing, hiking, fishing, and baseball.
